भारत पहले – India First, is made in collaboration with American photographer Conor Ryan Kelly Martin. The book accumulates two years of travelling to specific geographic regions in India where we visited sacred spaces and ancient temples to participate in what is known in the Hindu tradition as darshan (“to see”). With 108 pairings of images taken on film, भारत पहले — India First carries the viewer across the vast land of India through photographs of temples, animals, landscapes, and people. The photographs are accompanied by mantras, shlokas derived from scriptures, and original text written by us, emphasising the spirit of India and the power of faith.
